Taking Action with Local and National Organizations
Local to Lane County:
  • Black Unity: a humanitarian group created by people of color and white allies who seek fair and just treatment of black lives and voices through education on how all communities have been affected by police brutality
  • Centro Latino Americano: provides support, resources, and translation services for Latinx residents of Lane County
  • Community Alliance of Lane County (CALC):  CALC addresses the struggle for racial justice, immigrant rights, economic justice and educational equity and opposing heterosexism, anti-Semitism and other isms, as well as challenging war, militarism and the drive for global hegemony, seeking to define true security as everyone having decent housing, education, food, work and health care. 
  • Eugene Human Rights Commission: The mission of the Human Rights Commission is to promote implementation of universal human rights values and principles in all City of Eugene programs and throughout the wider community. 
  • Grupo Latino de Accion Directa of Lane County (GLAD): GLAD seeks to strengthen social, political, and economic futures of Latinos and other underrepresented groups in Lane County by fostering education, mentoring new leadership, connecting individuals to service providers and much more
  • Huerto de la Familia: works to increase health and economic security of Latinos in Lane County by providing organic agriculture and business training opportunities
  • Lane County: Local Black-Owned Business Directory - support local Black-owned businesses throughout Lane County
  • Lane County National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP): The mission of the NAACP is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.
  • Refugee and Immigrant Services Program (RISP): RISP consists of three programs (Refugee Resettlement Program, Immigration Legal Services Program, and Asylum Seekers Assistance Program) and work together to support refugees, asylum seekers, and other immigrants in Lane County
  • Showing Up for Racial Justice Springfield-Eugene: the local chapter of Showing Up for Racial Justice, a national group mobilizing white people for anti-racism work

  • Black Lives Matter: Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, Inc. is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes.
